Whitewater Paddling Trip November 9th-25th 2017 ( Sun Kosi , Trek and Tamur Rivers)
Day 1 When you arrive into Kathmandu airport, you will be met by the Adventure Hub Nepal Expedition Leader and transferred to the hotel to relax or recover from jetlag and welcome dinner in evening talk about the trip.

Day 2 After breakfast we will take you to our bus from your hotel which is five or ten minutes and we will put all the bags in the bus. We will drive approximately 3 and a half hrs. to the Put in Point of Sun Kosi River Khurkot. If you lucky with weather you might see magnificent views of the Everest Mountain Range. Paddle beautiful class 2- 3 today and we will camp on the riverbank nice sandy beach.

Day 3-6 Whitewater rafting and kayaking on Sun Kosi river down from Khurkot to Chatra.

The Sun Kosi has been described as one of the best white water trips in the world. Big volume rapids, beautiful scenery, warm water and excellent beaches for camping. The river travels from the northern part of Nepal and travels all the way east to the terai, flat lands of Nepal. All the major rivers from the Himalayas drain into the Sun Kosi and the river increases giving a feeling of power. You will travel through lush jungle, rice paddies and pass small villages. Monkeys, deer and many species of birds inhabit the Sun Kosi river corridor. Class 2- 4+ rapids over 5 days paddling around 135 kms from the put in at Khurkot Bazaar and take out at Chatra, this is truly a wonderful experience. Camping along the way on river beaches, which are perfect for early morning stretching or yoga sessions and relaxing after paddling.
Day 6 On the last day paddle down to the take out of the Sun Kosi river stopping along the way at the Bharah temple. We get to the take out at Chatra and everything is unloaded from our raft and gear boat and then loaded on to the bus. After that we will go for a traditional dhal bhat lunch. Note: Today we will also drive to Basantapur which is trekking starting point and stay night there driving hours is approximately 5 and half hours. We will load all rafting gear into the truck that will go to straight to Dhovan which rafting and kayaking put in point with boys which means you just have to carry minimum clothing what you need for two night three days on the trek and your Tharmarest plus sleeping bags.
We arrive at Basantapur and have Dinner. Get organized for trekking leaving the next morning. Stay overnight in lodge in Basantapur.
Day 7 After breakfast begin trekking which will take you through beautiful woods and meadows with magnificent views of Kanchenjunga, Makalu and the Everest massif in the far distance. After approximately 6 to 7 hrs. walk arrive at Chauki or Holy lake Gupha Pokhari and camp. (elevation 2850 meters)
Day 8 Today you will continue trekking up to the ridge through picturesque rhododendron forest and enjoy the spectacular views. The path winds gently up and down through ancient moss covered trees and after approximately 6 to 7 hrs. you will reach the top of the ridge at 2980 meters. Set up camp near the village of Gorja (elevation 1925 meters).
Day 9 Trek for approximately 4 hrs. or so down to Dobhan which is the starting point of the white water kayaking & rafting on the Tamur River. (elevation 640 meters). Pump up the rafts and get everything ready for the whitewater trip starting next day. Relax and camp overnight on the riverside beach.
Day 10 – 14 Whitewater Kayaking and rafting on the Tamur River. The volume in November is around 5250cfs and we will paddle 131 kms (82 miles).

Everest, Kanchenjunga and Makalu as you traverse along a ridgeline over 2800 metres.3 days trekking and 6 days rafting/kayaking the river is a beautiful turquoise colour and each day there are big volume rapids of class 3-4. Camping is on beautiful sandy beaches along the river and there is plenty of time for exploring and beach volleyball. “
Day 14 The last day of whitewater rafting on the Tamur will take you down to the confluence of the Tamur and Sun Kosi Rivers. Over 30 rapids of fun class 3 and 4 white-water makes this a fantastic day of paddling. Camp at the confluence of the Tamur and Sun Kosi Rivers.
Day 15 Paddle down to the take out of the Sun Kosi river stopping along the way at the Bharah temple. Lunch and then overnight bus trip back to Kathmandu approximately 16 to 18 hrs. arriving @ 7 am the following morning.
NB: There is the option here to take a 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu which will cost an additional US$ 185- for flight. This flight will depart from Biratnagar which is about an hour drive from the take out at Chatra. Flight cost, extra night and transport to airport and from airport to hotel you have pay extra if you decide take flight.
If you don’t have time and want to fly out of Nepal on the day 16th you can but you have to take flight from Biratnagar on the day 15th afternoon to Kathmandu.
Day 16 You will be dropped off at your hotel and then can spend the rest of the day shopping and relaxing in Kathmandu. Enjoy a nice hot shower and get ready for celebration dinner! Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 17 Transfer to airport and fly home.
