Everest three high passes trek is a unique and adventures trek in the Everest region of the Himalayas. This trek offers the three high passes in the highest trekking part of the Everest region and is designed forwell-experienced trekkers who like adventures and the challengers of the high mountain environments. The mountains on this trek start at an altitude of 2800 meters with the highest point 5550 meters at the Kalapathar. This trek can be completed by someone who has previous experience trekking in the high mountains and is possible for beginners too but keep in mind it will be challenging at times. You will need good physical fitness and will have had to have done some training prior to going on this expedition.
This Everest three high passes trek offers beautiful landscapes with more than 50 snow capped high mountains including 4 of the highest mountains over 8000 meters along Mount Everest. You will experience the 3 high passes Renjo La, Cho La & Kongma La pass, the two beautiful view points of Gokyo Ri and Kalapathar, the popular Everest base camp. On this trek you will see beautiful glacier lakes, hidden Sherpa villagers and their Buddhist culture, monks and monasteries, a wide range of flora and fauna as well as some of the best Himalayan trekking trails. Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Namaste & welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. When you land at the Tribhuvan international airport a Whitewater Adventures Nepal (WWAN) representative welcomes you with your name and assists you to transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. After taking some time to get refreshed a WWAN staff member will meet you at your hotel and bring you to our head office where will conduct our briefing about the program. That evening we will have a welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural program in the heart of Kathmandu. Stay overnight and overnight hotel.

Day 02: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
. After breakfast head out for our guided day trip to world heritage sites in the Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We will take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is a place of thousand of devotees. Saddhus (holy men/Baba), can be seen there and also there is cremating bodies for funerals daily on the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys will surround you giggling you as we take time to explore the surrounding areas and visit Bouddhanath Stupa another pilgrimage centre which is also a most popular and important place for Buddhists. You will enjoy seeing the rounded prayer wheels and fluttering colorful flags with melodious chanting noise. After visiting Bouddhanath stupa we will drive to the City of Devotees (Bhaktapur). This traditional and traffic free town is the third biggest town in the Valley. We’ll explore the medieval like squares, courtyards and temples of this vibrant town. After a stop for lunch at restaurant in Bhaktapur it’s time to drive back to Kathmandu and prepare for next days departure for trekking. Stay overnight at the hotel. Alternatively, there is the option to stay on for a three day sightseeing tour inside Kathmandu valley instead of going trekking. (Breakfast & Deluxe hotel accommodation included)
Day 03: Fly to Lukla & trek to Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft)
. In the early morning you will be transferred to the domestic airport to fly to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft). It takes approximately 35 minutes scenic flight to Lukla airport (2,800m/9,184ft). Upon arrival take a tea break while your WWAN guideorganizes the dividing up of the baggage load to be carried by the porters. Have some lunch and marvel at this amazing high altitude village. The trek starts with the most scenic views of Numbur Himal & Phari. We continue further on to Phakding passing some Sherpa farm villages. We follow the trail to the Dudhkoshi River with gradual with ups and downs from Thado Koshi. We will have lunch with superb views of Kusum-Kangaru (6,369m/20,890ft) and then cross a short suspension bridge, from here after a short climb brings us to the Ghat village. Another 1 and a half hours of gradual walking brings you to Phakding village for the overnight stop at lodge. Enjoy a stroll around the village and explore. Day 04:Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft)
. 5-6 hours trek.After breakfast we start our trek and after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh-Kosi the walk is pleasant with few short uphill and downhill sections re-crossing the same river again with magnificent views of Mount Thamserku (6,608m/21,675ft) from the Benkar village. The track continues with more bridgecrossings and reaches at Monjo which is entrance gate of Sagarmatha National Park. This is where your trekking permit will be checked and the records are kept of all trekkers going to and from this place including the local trekking staff as well.
When we enter the National park boundary we descend and it is a gradual walk that brings us to a suspension bridge over the Bhote-Koshi river. After the bridge Jorsalle village is reached, this is the last village until Namche Bazaar, from here the walk is pleasant along the riverbed and then the last bridge over the Imjatse River is reached. From here the walk is along the winding uphill path all the way to Namche Bazaar, with magnificent view of Kwangde Peak and it other sister peaks towards the east with Kusum Kangaru in the far distance. As you climb higher, views of Mount Everest, Lhotse and closer views of Tawache Peak can be seen from some parts of the trail on the way to Namche. Finally we reach thecolorful houses in the village of Namche Bazzar which is the main gate of the Khumbu region. We stay overnight stay in a lodge.

Day 05: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar.
You have the full day of leisure for acclimatization at this high altitude. Take a stroll around the market, if it is Saturday you can see many people in at the market shopping to fulfill their daily needs. This is the only shopping market in this area. Also you can visit the Sherpa Museum as well and this is a great place to learn about the Sherpa culture and history of mountaineering. If you feel up to it, visit the luxury Everest view hotel & Syangboche airstrip and then stroll back to the hotel for the overnight. Day 06: Trek to Thame village (3,800 m/12,464ft) 4 hours trek.
Today we will head toward the western part of Khumbu called Thame village and walk just below the Syangboche airstrip and then on to Thamo village for lunch. We continue further up to the Thame Village and during this trek you can seethe most scenic viewsof surrounding mountains and Himalayan wildlife. Thame Valley is most popular for mountain climbers and the monastery itself. After check into the hotel we can visit the monastery and surrounding valley. Stay overnight at teahouse.

Day 07: Trek to Lungden (4,300m/14,104ft) 3- 4 hours trek. After Thame village today we head towards the north following the Dudh Koshi River up to Lungden valley for the overnight stay. It has a small settlement and is a big Yak farming community. There are a few basic teahouses where we can stay overnight in basic sharing room and with simple but delicious typical basic Nepalese food. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner & teahouse accommodation are included)
Day 08: Trek via Renjo pass (5,338m/17,509ft) to Gokyo (4,800m/15,744ft) Today we will prepare well all our equipment; down jacket, gloves, boots, hat, sunglasses, gaiters, crampons and a walking stick. After breakfast we will start our trek early using ice crews and ascending all the way to Renjo La passe on a rocky and snow covered trail, this is a long glacier walk. It is a steep climb uphill up to Renjo La, where we can see the best views of Himalayan scenery including Mt. Everest and Gokyo valley. We then descend a few hours to Gokyo Lake and we can enjoy the achievement of climbing the high pass. It takes 8-9 hours to reach at Gokyo.

Day 09: Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,330m/17,483ft), and rest day
. This morning hike up to Gokyo Ri for the breathtaking views of a splash sunrise on the top of the mountain including Mt. Everest views and much more spectacular Himalayan scenery. This will be an unforgettable lifetime memory and a highlight of the trip. We then stroll back an hour to Gokyo for breakfast. The remainder of the day is a full day of rest at Gokyo valley and if you like, explore the surrounding area.

Day 10: Trek to Thaknak (4,750m/15,580ft)
After a wonderful time at Gokyo valley today we trek down to Thaknakpassing through the second lake and walking on the glacier. This will take approximately 3- 4 hours to reach Thaknak. Sometimes in the busy season it’s hard to get a room in a hotel but don’t worry we can stay at a tented camp as well.

Day 11: Thaknak to Cho-la Pass (5367m/17604ft) to Dzongla (4,850m/15908ft).
Today, we walk up to the high passes and this is one of the challenging trekking days to cross the Cho-la at 5,367 meters height. The pass is not difficult but it is steep and involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. After crossing the Cho-la pass we will reach Dzongla for overnight stop at a teahouse. It has a very basic dorm room with cozy dining. Enjoy the fantastic view around the high above.

Day 12: Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m/16,929ft).
We continue to trek along the moraine of the glacier, with views of Kalapathar and Pumori, before reaching Lobuche (4910m) for lunch. You will have a good chance to see the best view of Mt. Nuptse in front of you walking along the Gorekshep. The trail up to the Gorakshep is rocky and windy but it offers great views of Pumori, Everest Base camp and the glacier. We stop at the Gorakshep and enjoy the night at a higher elevation ensuring we look after ourselves well and keep hydrated at the higher altitude.

Day 13: Hike to Everest base camp (5,316m/17,437ft)
After breakfast our adventure continues towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Ice-fall, the path from Gorekshep can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier, the walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air. The trek continues over rocky dunes, moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. Everest Base Camp is lively with lots of commotion during the high expedition season. It takes 2-3 hours to get to base camp and after a grand time here retrace the journey back to Gorekshep for the overnight at lodge.

Day 14: Kalapathar (5,550m/18,204ft) to Lobuche (4,900m/16,072)
An early morning departure our journey continues up a steep climb to the top which will take around 2 hours. After reaching the top, you will be beaming as you achieve the moment that you been dreaming, since the beginning of the journey. At the top of Kalapathar is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori, the view from here is beyond imagination as Mount Everest looks amazing, the panoramic view from this spot is something to cherish, and you feel its worth the hard climb to get up the top.The views are amazing from this spot and to the south Khumbu glacier sweeps below you, and you can also see the Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier and lot of picturesque scenery. Stroll back to Gorekshep and re-track to Lobuche for the overnight stop at our camp after 6-7 hrs walk.

Day 15: Trek to Chhukung (4,730m/15,518ft) via Kongma La (5,535m/18,159ft)
. After breakfast trek via Khumbu Glacier to Kongma La Base Camp (5,000m/16,404ft). Continue ascending to Kongma pass- this ascent is a difficult part of our trek today. After gaining the Kongma La, we see a cairn wrapped in prayer flags which marksthe pass. Then we descend gradually trekking down the Imja Khola valley to Chhulung to Dingboche, a small summer settlement. Overnight at Dingboche.

Day 16: Trek down to Tyangboche (3,867m/12684ft)
The walk today will be easy heading downhill to a lower elevation. From Chhukung the walk is pleasant all the way to Tyangboche. After the Dingboche valley trekking down to a bridge our route descends following the stream towards Pangboche village. We continue walking further down to Tyangboche which is one of the most beautiful places in the Himalaya. The first thing that comes to your eye is the big Monastery or Gumba, then the large field with campsites and teahouses and lodges beneath the towering majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam. Mount Everest, Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar can be seen towards thenortheast and thereare numerous peaks all around you.

Day 17: Trek to Namche (3,440m/11,283ft)
. Trek down to Phungithanka a small settlement with couple of teahouses. The trail leads down hill through the forested path of silver fir, blue pines,and rhododendron and see some magnolia and birch trees. Cross the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi river and trek onwards to the Sanasa and retrace to Namche bazzar for the overnight stay.

Day 18: Namche to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft)
. This is our last day trekking. We will have a long but fulfilling day back to Lukla. Firstly, we descend a long way before we cross a bridge and then walkfurther to Monju and continue to Phakding for lunch. We trek back enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village. After arrival in Lukla and you will have time to stroll around the area and your WWAN guide will re-confirm your flight ticket. Enjoy the last dinner and celebrate an amazing experience with your crewmember and overnight at Hotel.

Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu
. The flight time departures to Kathmandu, are normally scheduled for the morning because of the winds in the afternoon. Sometimes the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason beyond our control. Anyway we will ensure that you fly back to Kathmandu and your WWAN guide will transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a hot shower and take the time to relax after your long journey.
Day 20: Leisure day in Kathmandu
. This is a full day at leisure to rest and relax, to explore the local area and perhaps do a bit of last minute shopping at the heart of Kathmandu valley. You also have the option of doing some sight-seeing including Bhaktapur and Patan. Afterwards, you will have an evening farewell dinner with your crew and overnight at your hotel.

Day 21: Departure from Kathmandu
. Today is free for last minute shopping for souvenirs or gifts for your family and friends until your departure flight/drive to the airport. Alternatively you may commence any extra trips or activities you may have booked with us. If departing, you’ll be transferred to the international Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination.
